How You Can HelpOne source of grant aid for listed buildings is English Heritage/Heritage Lottery Fund. All Saints is listed Grade II. We are not eligible for grant Aid from English Heritage, the listing is not high enough thus originally the only source of Grant Aid open to us has been the Heritage Lottery Fund but until recently the regulations precluded aid to listed places of worship in local authority areas such as ours - Caradon and others in Cornwall. However these regulations have been recently amended and it does seem as though there might be a possibility that Grant Aid could be obtained if all the conditions can be met.
2003 Fund Raising Update
A total of over £67,000 has been achieved so far, this has come from fund raising events, donations, gifts, grant aid from Charitable bodies, Preservation Trusts and other bodies and from VAT rebates.
A programme of work started in April 2001 and so far all the necessary work on the outside and inside of the west end has been completed and all the defective plaster on the inside of the walls at the east has been stripped off and the masonry is being allowed to dry out; it should be dry enough to be re-plastered, with a lime based plaster, towards the end of 2003.
There is sufficient funding available to complete this work but due to inflation, the high cost of scaffolding, the difficulty of access and the steeply sloping site a further £24,000 will be needed to complete the work necessary on the outside walls, roof, coping stones at the east end and any help that you can give us towards this sum will be gratefully received and all donations will be acknowledged.
